Hello blog friends. How is your weekend? We are having some fabulous weather. Yesterday was a little chilly (at least the sun was shining) and today it is 64 and gorgeous. I did a nice 10 mile run in the frosty morning yesterday. I think it was all of 24 degrees but I still enjoyed being out and enjoying mother nature.
This morning I ventured out for another run. I knew that I wanted to try to conquer a longer distance but I did not have a set mileage in my head. I ate 1/4 cup oat bran with a tablespoon of jelly before leaving.
It was so amazing outside this morning. It almost felt like a Spring morning. I trekked along listening to my music while breathing the warm morning air. My legs just wanted to keep going. I managed to run my longest distance ever – 15 miles. I ran it in 2 hours and 12 minutes. Even though I am not training for a race, I really enjoy the challenge.
Surprisingly I was not starving when I got home but I decided I should eat right away in stead of showering. I hate to stay grimy but I was afraid that if I waited until after I showered then I might start to feel a little woozy.
I cooked up a big batch of berry oats – 3/4 cup oatmeal, 1/2 scoop Jay Robb Vanilla protein powder, cinnamon, 1/2 cup each of frozen blueberries & strawberries, PB2 and a tablespoon of almond butter.
A little while later, me and my guys went out in the backyard to do some yard work. I did a little raking but unfortunately the bees started coming out. I am allergic to bees so I was nervous that they might be a little aggressive at this point in the year. We ended up starting a fire in our fire pit to try and keep them away but there were still a few flying around me. I decided not to chance it (I’m in no mood to blow up like a balloon today) and came inside to make lunch.
I had a PB & J sandwich, zucchini, apple and corn chips.
Well Charlie is just about finished outside so I need to make him some lunch. I am not sure what else is on our agenda for today. Having run 15 miles, I might need to put my feet up and rest. Have a great afternoon.
