Cheater, Cheater Brownie Eater

My honey is waiting for me – we are going to watch a movie tonight. I went to Blockbuster and rented Zack and Miri make a Porno. Here is a quick recap of the rest of my eats today.

Afternoon snack: apple, 3/4 cup plain yogurt with tsp agave and a TJ’s Fig Bar.

For dinner I split this packaged lentil mix with my hubs.

I added cooked broccoli, summer squash, zucchini and 3/4 cup cooked brown rice to my serving of lentils. It was actually pretty good but not as spicy as I thought it would be. Thankfully it was not too salty which tends to be the downside of most packaged products. I would buy this again for a quick go to meal. Charlie even had his with brown rice too – he tends prefers white rice but ended up liking the combo I made for him.

We each had some more protein – I had an organic Apple Chicken sausage and he had left over Honey Mustard chicken tenders.

I cheated today. I bought a boxed No Pudge Fudge Brownie Mix at Trader Joe’s. All I had to do was add this little container of yogurt, pop the batter into a pan that I lined with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Super simple and the result …….

Super fudgy and delicious. My man is a fan of this too – I am on a roll tonight. He had a healthy dinner and dessert. The box says to cut into 12 portions but we like living large here at my homestead so I cut ours into 9 pieces. They really didn’t cut all that easy – they are a a bit sticky. I guess I could have let them cool a bit longer but I was kind of excited to eat one. Yes, this did excite me.

I am off to hang with the Mr. Have a great night. See you sometime tomorrow.

I've been eyeing those lentils as TJ's but never bought them. Glad to hear they're good and not too salty. I'm not a big fan of sodium.

I'm excited about those brownies too. Yum Sammie - enjoy the movie!

Are the TJs Fig Bars like fig newtons? Can we get a picture of the bar itself?

I think No Pudge changed its box, yes?

Interested to hear what you think of the movie. My tolerance for dirty jokes isn't so high anymore...well, unless they are on my blog ;)

I will take a pic of the bar next time for you. And, yes they to remind me of a Fig Newton but much softer. The No Pudge package did change.

It was VERY dirty and fowl but I thought it was hilarious. Have you seen the 40 Year Old Virgin? It has even more vulgar language than that movie.

I have seen the No Pudge brownies but haven't tried them yet. I like that you add yogurt instead of oil! Looks like a great final product too!
